MX Productions was established in 2015 by Max Nason following professional training in Audio Production and Engineering at the New England Institute of Art. The company was founded on the belief that exceptional events require both thoughtful entertainment and technically sound audio. That combination continues to define every engagement, from intimate private celebrations to large regional events.
How MX Productions began
A Background in Sound Before the First Event
Before MX Productions became an event company, Max Nason was already working in sound. He graduated from the New England Institute of Art in 2010 with a degree in Audio Production and Engineering and spent the next several years gaining professional experience before establishing MX Productions in 2015.
That background shaped the company from the beginning. Music matters, but so does the way it sounds in the room. A great playlist cannot make up for vows that guests cannot hear, a microphone that feeds back during a toast, or a system that overwhelms the people seated closest to it. The technical side and the entertainment side have always been treated as parts of the same job.
Local experience
Built in the Adirondacks
MX Productions is based in the Lake Placid region and has spent more than a decade working in the kinds of venues that make Adirondack events distinctive. That includes resorts and ballrooms, but also tents, barns, lakeshores, historic buildings, private camps, lodges, and outdoor ceremony sites.
Local experience is useful in very practical ways. Familiarity with a venue can mean already knowing where equipment can be loaded in, what electrical service is available, how the room changes when it fills with guests, or what an indoor weather backup will require. When a venue is new to us, we can visit ahead of time and learn those details before the event.

Professional Without Making It About Us
MX Productions is there to support the event, not to become the event. The emcee style is clear and warm without unnecessary routines or constant commentary. Music is planned around your preferences and adjusted to the room as the celebration develops. Behind the scenes, we stay in communication with the other professionals involved so the schedule can move naturally.
That same approach applies to corporate events, community functions, and private celebrations. The tone changes with the occasion, but the priorities remain the same: good preparation, clear sound, thoughtful timing, and an experience that feels comfortable for the people in the room.

More Than Owning Good Equipment
The Adirondacks are full of beautiful spaces that were never designed for amplified sound. Formal training in audio engineering helps us anticipate those issues instead of discovering them in front of your guests. Speaker placement, microphone choice, coverage, volume, and system configuration are planned for the actual environment in which the event will take place.
Outdoor ceremonies
Outdoor ceremonies have no walls to contain sound.
Tents
Tents change as sidewalls move and guests fill the space.
Historic rooms
Historic rooms can be reflective.
Remote sites
Remote sites may have limited electrical service.
What we do
Weddings, Events, Live Sound, and More
Today, MX Productions provides wedding DJ and emcee services, event DJ and hosting, live sound, the Adirondack Selfie Mirror, and private audio instruction. Weddings make up a large part of the calendar, but the same combination of entertainment experience and technical audio knowledge carries into conferences, fundraisers, school functions, corporate events, and private celebrations.
The company has worked at many of the best-known venues in the region, as well as private camps and locations that may host only a handful of events each year. Each one receives the same attention to planning and preparation.

From the first conversation through the event itself, clients can reach Max by phone, text, email, video, or in person. Questions do not need to wait until the final planning meeting, and changes can be discussed as they come up.
That accessibility is intentional. Events involve many details, and good decisions are easier when you can ask the person who will be responsible for the music, announcements, and audio.
